All Saints Students Make The Grade
All Saints Students have gained exceptional results in this year’s ‘A’ level and GCSE examinations.
At ‘A’ level the pass rate was 99% with 39 % of passes at grades A or B.
There were a number of outstanding performances with many A* results gained: most notably, Andrew Webster gained 5 A* grades and we wish him well as he enters Cambridge university to study medicine.

At GCSE, 81% of all students gained 5 or more A* to C grades with 61% including English and Mathematics. These are the best results recorded by students from All Saints and follow a trend of consistent improvement over the last six years.
We are proud of our students’ outstanding achievements and wish them well in their future studies and careers.
All Saints Supporting local and international charities
Students at All Saints have a record and reputation of being exceptional fundraisers. The school supports a wide range of local, national and international charities with staff and students being creative in ideas for fundraising events as well as having a tireless spirit of generosity, whether it be of time or money.
Throughout the last academic year over £1000 was raised for the British Heart Foundation; £350 for the British Legion Poppy Appeal; over £500 for St Wilfrid’s Day Centre; students sent away 154 shoe box presents for Operation Christmas Child; Cafod received £2650 in their World Gifts and Haiti appeals; during Lent £3000 was raised for the Hallam Caring Services; donations were also sent to the Children’s Hospital, Weston Park Hospital, Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice as well as many other good causes. In total £12,528 was donated to our chosen charities – to all who were involved, sincere thanks.
This year each of the Houses are currently identifying a chosen charity to focus their fundraising towards.
Duke of Edinburgh success For All Saints students
Last July nine students from All Saints School travelled to Scotland to join a number of other Sheffield schools, including Notre Dame and King Edwards, to take part in their Gold Duke of Edinburgh expedition. Two groups spent four days and three nights navigating through valleys, over passes and across rivers in remote terrain. The groups were entirely self sufficient, carrying food, purifying water and even digging their own toilets! They stayed upbeat despite challenging weather and long days, with very little contact with the outside world. One member of the group has already completed her Gold award, and the others are working to complete the other sections of the award over the next year.
6th Form residential trip to Thornbridge Hall
165 lower sixth students recently enjoyed a three day residential experience at Thornbridge Hall in Derbyshire.

Attendance Reward Trip July 2010
186 students enjoyed a day out as a reward for excellent attendance over the course of the year.
4 coach loads of students accompanied by support and teaching staff made their way up the A1 to enjoy the delights and thrills of Lightwater Valley theme park.
The sun shone, the rides did not disappoint and ice creams were consumed in vast quantities.
This is the fourth year that trip has run with ever increasing numbers of students taking part.
Musical Showcase July 2010
All Saints Catholic High School and Heritage Park Community School hosted a joint summer musical showcase on Friday 16th July 2010. The showcase featured performances from a wide variety of ensembles including rock bands, soloists, vocal groups and collaborations of students from both schools, many of which were performing for the first time in public. The performances spanned many musical genres including classical, jazz, rock and pop. The showcase was a huge success and both schools hope to host a similar event next year. The next All Saints musical showcase will take place on Thursday 21st October 2010.
Year 7 Trip to France June 2010
Towards the end of the summer term 70 Year 7 pupils spent a week in France, as our pupils have done for the past tewnty years! They stayed at a residential centre in a little village in Brittany called Le Quiou, where they tasted French food (even oysters!) and practised using their French to buy ice creams and postcards.
We visited the famous Mont St Michel, saw the hydroelectric power station at Dinard and went to market in Dinan. The beach at St Malo was very popular and we also discovered the little seaside town of St Cast. Tasting oysters at Cancale was an unforgettable experience with several pupils going back for more, while a few were not too keen, but at least everyone tried them!
For history lovers, there was a tour of a Roman villa, which has been discovered near the village where we stayed.
Staying in France as a group for the week was one of the highlights of Year 7 and the talent show and barbecue on the last night will be remembered for a long time!
